Free Therapy

Because Your Mental Health Matters

At the Black Girls Mental Health Collective Foundation (BGMHCF), we believe everyone deserves access to mental health care that affirms who they are and meets them where they are—especially during pregnancy and postpartum.

Our Therapy Voucher Program offers free, culturally responsive therapy sessions to Black women and birthing individuals who are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford the care they need.

Who This Serves

This program is designed for individuals who:

  • Identify as Black women or Black birthing people

  • Are navigating the perinatal period (pregnancy through 12 months postpartum)

  • Do not have insurance or are underinsured

  • Face financial barriers to accessing mental health services

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, isolated, or just need someone to talk to—we’re here to support you with therapy that’s rooted in cultural understanding and community care.

Why We Offer This

Black birthing individuals face disproportionate challenges when it comes to maternal mental health. From systemic barriers to racial trauma, the journey through pregnancy and postpartum can be uniquely stressful. Our voucher program was created to close the gap—to ensure that cost and coverage aren’t obstacles to getting the care you deserve.

Made Possible by Our Supporters

This program is funded through the generosity of people and organizations who believe in mental health equity and the importance of culturally affirming care.

We are deeply grateful for the trust and support of our funders, whose commitment to justice, healing, and community care helps us offer this essential resource.
