What We Offer

Funding for Therapy

Providing funding for therapy is crucial to the mission of the Black Girls Mental Health Collective (BGMHC). Access to affordable, culturally sensitive mental health care is often limited for Black women, especially during the perinatal period when they face higher risks of mental health challenges. By funding therapy, we ensure that low-income Black women can receive the support they need without the financial burden, leading to better mental health outcomes for mothers and healthier starts for their babies.

Funding for Perinatal Mental Health Training

Perinatal mental health trainings can be costly for birth workers and medical providers, particularly Black individuals. Training birth workers and healthcare providers in perinatal mental health equips them with the skills to recognize, support, and address the mental health needs of Black mothers. This training is essential to increasing the availability of culturally competent care and improving the overall quality of support these women receive. Investing training helps break down systemic barriers, promotes maternal mental health equity, and supports the long-term well-being of Black women and their families.
